File Sharing Z history
FileSharingZ.com was founded late 2003 and is still run by Mavol.
The site started out as a peer-to-peer file sharing and codec pack mirror. It was initially called the Kazaa Download Place or KDP. Not so long after its creation the successor of the popular Kazaa Lite K++ program, Kazaa Lite Resurrection, chose KDP as its official home. KDP grew rapidly and after acquiring a popular file sharing forum, KDP found itself in need of a new name. After organizing a fund raiser to pay for a new domain FileSharingPlace.com was born.
The site enjoyed many years of growing success; a file sharing guides and a file sharing news section were introduced, and the original free downloads section was expanded. Many new projects and other sites were launched such as TorrentScan.com. The success unexpectedly came to a halt when in December 2006 the domain name FileSharingPlace.com was stolen by the owner of ExtremeIS.com (which was our hosting and domain company). A few outdated pages of ours and an excessive load of advertisement and pop-ups now unfortunately welcome visitors at FileSharingPlace.com.
Immediately following the loss of the site domain, FileSharingPlace.be was launched. Behind the scenes, the development of a new site commenced. On January 29, 2008 FileSharingZ.com was launched, replacing FileSharingPlace.be. The site had been completely reinvented: A new site design, layout, logo along with a new name created the essential new fresh identity. Rewritten completely from scratch the site offered new interactive content; structural changes improved information and site accessibility:
File Sharing Z has become a valuable file sharing source wrapped in a professional look.
