Defraggler is a Windows application that will defragment either your complete hard drive or one file at a time. It supports FAT32 and NTFS file systems. Defraggler also gives you the ability to defrag the files you want to.
You can choose to tackle the problem areas on your hard drive like your favorite videos or business software, or you can choose to defrag your entire drive.
Defraggler analyzes your hard drive and present you with an interactive drive map. The drive map shows you what blocks are empty, fragmented, or not fragmented at all. You can click on the drive map blocks to see which files are saved in the block. You can also view a list of fragmented files and generate a report out of it.
If your free space is fragmented, new files that are written to your hard disk will automatically also be fragmented. Defraggler solves this problem by allowing you to defrag the free space on your hard drive.
Hard drives can typically read data in the beginning of the drive a lot faster than at the end of the drive. Defraggler lets you use this to your advantage by allowing you to move large files such as archives, videos and backups to the end of your hard drive, whilest moving the smaller more frequently used files to the beginning of the drive.
Defraggler can run in the background so you can use your machine while its optimizing it. However, you can also schedule Defraggler to defragment while you're sleeping so you wake up to a faster PC.
