MP3Gain analyzes and adjusts MP3 files so that they have the same volume.
MP3Gain will help you increase or decrease the volume of MP3 files. This is particularly useful if one or more songs in your music collection are considerably louder or quiet compared to the rest.
MP3Gain does not do peak normalization like many other normalizers do. This means that MP3Gain will not increase or decrease the volume of peaks in the MP3 file. By doing a global statistical analysis MP3Gain determines how loud the MP3 sounds to the human ear. Based on this information, it lowers of increases the volume across the entire MP3 file by the same percentage.
Changes made by MP3Gain do not result in any loss of sound quality. This is because MP3Gain adjusts the MP3 file directly, without decoding and re-encoding. This also means that any changes can be made very quickly and also be undone later.
