Mp3tag Description
Mp3tag allows you to modify, add and delete the metadata included in music files. The name of the program might suggest that it is only limited to editing MP3 files, this is not true. Mp3tag supports all commonly found audio formats.
Besides supporting different types of audio files, it also supports different types of metadata. Mp3tag supports ID3 tags, including ID3v1, ID3v2.3, ID3v2.4, but also WMA tags, iTunes MP4 tags, Vorbis Comments, and APE Tags.
Mp3tag can rename file names based on the tag information embedded into the file. The renaming feature allows advanced control such replacing only certain characters or words, importing and exporting tag info, creating playlists, and a few other advanced features.
Support for online database lookups is included in Mp3tag so you can automatically embed the correct tags and cover art into your music files. The supported online databases includes Amazon, discogs, freedb, and a few others.
