PeerGuardian Description
PeerGuardian 2 is the one and only original IP blocker for use with peer-to-peer file sharing applications.
PeerGuardian 2 is aimed at protecting your privacy while you use peer-to-peer file sharing software. You can downloads lists of IP addresses of corporations and organization that are known for trying to invade your privacy. These corporations and organization will attempt to find out what you are doing online, more specially, what files you are sharing, downloading and uploading.
PeerGuardian 2 blocks IPv4 traffic which is the standard technology used by peer-to-peer file sharing technologies. This means that it blocks traffic such as TCP, UDP, ICMP, and more.
PeerGuardian 2 supports the use of multiple IP lists. It will automatically attempt to update itself and the IP lists. PeerGuardian 2 will run in the background quietly with very low CPU and memory usage, blocking bad IPs.
FileSharingZ.com had an interview with the lead developer of PeerGuardian. Here's the link: PeerGuardian interview.
