Similarity Description

Similarity will go through your audio files and help you find and delete similar and duplicate music files.

Similarity uses three methods to detect similar files.

First it will do a byte to byte comparison of the file content of the music files. Second, it will compare the embedded music tags. During this stage it will compare the title, artist, and album information that is embedded. Third, it uses an advanced algorithm to detect music files that sound the same.

The sensitivity of the search criteria can be adjusted. This way you can find obvious duplicates quickly, or similar audio files with only minor differences.

The duplicates files Similarity finds can be deleted or you can browse to them. You will get a list of all the duplicate files. This list can be sorted and exported as a playlist.

Similarity has full Unicode support.

• The licensing terms has been changed.
  Now all licenses are lifetime, and limitations apply to updates only.
  Now your annual license will work with all older versions even if it expired already. It won’t work with newer versions only.
  Also an option to purchase the licensed version with lifetime subscription to updates is available to old customers only – those who purchased the program before this day.
  All old customers don’t loose anything: if they bought an annual subscription, they will be able to run all previous versions even after the subscription expires,
  while lifetime license users already has a subscription that’s not available anymore.
